Overview of the University of Kurdistan Hewler

The University of Kurdistan Hewler was founded in 2006 by the Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani. It is Iraq’s first and only public, English-speaking, independent University.

Kurdistan Hewler aims to be nationally and internationally known to provide high-quality education and encourage engagement between Kurdistan and the international world.

As of today, UKH consists of their main university campus, 3 dormitories for student accommodation and staff & faculty accommodation. They are currently building a new modern campus that is environmentally friendly. They also offer a range of societies, including their well-known Debating Society.

A select number of students are invited to the University of Kurdistan Hewler’s interview.

  • Criteria: The interview assesses student’s interpersonal skills, including empathy and communication, understanding of the role of a health professional and commitment, interest and motivation to study Medicine.
  • Structure: The interview section is structured into Multiple Mini Interviews.
